MULLAPERIYAR : THE WATER BOMB

Here we are bringing all your attention to Mullaperiyar Dam which threatens the lives of 3.5 million civilians spread across 4 districts of Kerala. Mullaperiyar is constructed over the headwaters of the Periyar River in 1887 -1895 (yes, a dam which is in use for 116 years), upon a lease indenture for 999 years. The dam was built of Surkhi Mortar, and the engineers had given it a life period of 50 years but now it’s the 116th year. Mullaperiyar Dam site lie in seismic zone-III as per the seismic zoning map of India. This area is close to a large number of major faults in this region, some of which are active and others having the potential to become active. Earthquakes of intensities around 5.0 in Richter scale were occurred in this region in the recent past. There have been 22 small earthquakes since January 2011, and within a span of 2 days, two tremors of mild intensity on 5/11/10 and 6/11/2010 occurred in the 50KM range of Mullaperiyar Dam. Even though, these earthquakes are minor in nature, these are seen as indication of the increased seismicity of the region surrounding Mullaperiyar Dam, which was once thought completely dormant. As per some experts’ reports, the dam can survive a maximum period of 5 more years (if no more seismic activities by God’s grace). But any kind of seismic activity with an intensity of more than 5.0 in Richter scale will end up in direct collapse of the dam, which will release a water bomb with 445 million cubic meter with a capacity to destroy everything on its way to the much bigger Idukki Dam with 2000 million cubic metres. As obvious, the Idukki Dam also will collapse and water will flood towards the Arabian Sea and everything on its way (4 districts – Idukki, Pathanamthitta, Aleppey and Ernakulam, with a total population of 3.5 million people) will be destroyed within an hour time..... The only way out is a new dam, but it is caught in the politics between Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu was successful in arm twisting Kerala using its political power in centre and in the legal battle in Supreme Court. As per reports, Mullaperiyar is the second most dangerous and oldest reservoir in the world behind the Mosul Dam (Iraq)... Now the recent developments are making the people more panic; we the common people are embarrassed by the ignorance from the political field and the media. None other than the common public is even talking about this.... we are trying to raise this through protests and making more awareness; but no political parties or media is bothered about 3.5 million lives. We are bringing your attention to this one....... more details facts and pictures will be added down..................... For 3.5 million people who are running out of time and find no hope to live............... Since our government and other political parties has no time to attend this matter, and will settle with any simple stupid reason to avoid this issue, we, people from Kerala left no choice but to be in action, so we will do whatever we can, to get much importance in this issue, to save our lives, to save Kerala,……… there is no time to waste its already late !

Variety Recipe*: The Great Chicken Pickle

I am an explorer of food but i beleive that worthless people live only to eat and drink; people of worth eat and drink only to live.Here i am presenting before you a variety type of pickle my friend Amit created sorry invented in our room and tested and verified upon several guinea pigs including me.It was awesome if you have guts try it.    Ingredients

Chicken pieces – 1 cup Red chilli powder - ½ tsp Salt - to taste Oil - ½ cup Mustard seeds – 1 tsp Cumin seeds - ½ tsp Ginger, crushed – 1 tbsp Garlic, crushed – 1 tbsp Curry leaves, chopped – a few Pickle powder – 4 tbsp Turmeric powder - ½ tsp Vinegar – 1 cup Boiled water, cooled to room temperature – 1 cup Sugar – 1 tbsp Preparation  Cut the chicken into very small pieces. Mix them with red chilli powder and  salt and keep aside. Heat oil in a saucepan and fry the chicken pieces till they turn golden brown. Remove them from the pan and keep them aside. Splutter mustard and cumin seeds in the remaining oil. Add ginger, garlic and curry leaves and stir them well. Add pickle powder, turmeric powder, vinegar and water and continue stirring. Finally add chicken pieces, sugar and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil. Transfer the pickle to a clean jar after it cools.It tastes great with dosas, idllis and rotis, not to mention rice. And what more- unlike most other traditional pickles, it can be eaten right from the day it is prepared.

 Social Networking Sites makes the world comes closer Just like RELIANCE MOTO  karlo duniya mutthi mein.Orkut was the first social networking site which becomes most common through out the world and now in the state of RIP.Now Orkut is trying to gain back its strength by randomly changing its format and adding new features but also its not getting worked.The reason behind the death of Orkut was Mr.Mark Elliot Zuckerberg who was the inventor of FACEBOOK.Now so many sites are issuing their site access through FACEBOOK account my suggestion to google is try an access to ORKUT through FACEBOOK (LOL :D).



A weird truth is that If any changes are made to the format of orkut people says that orkut is just copying facebook format.So sad to here that. 



Now a days online games are increasing day by day.We can see that each and every social networking sites provides online games.I think 60% of the facebook users are mad of online games.And I think ORKUT didn't had it in the beginning but to regain its strength they are also providing some online games now.Each and every online games sucks the valuable time of every one who plays it and some sucks the real money too.Online games makes the gamers a fantasy world which destroys the beautiful world around them.I think now a days 24hours available online makes some prestige around youngsters. 



Disadvantages of Online games and Social Networking(for an extended)

1. A child who use it destroys his/hers age span ranging from birth to adolescence in other words destroys Childhood.
2. Decrease in a naturally recurring state characterized by reduced or absent consciousness, relatively suspended sensory activity, and inactivity of nearly all voluntary muscles in other words destroys Sleep.
3. Decrease in interpersonal relationship generally considered to be closer than association, although there is a range of degrees of intimacy in both friendships and associations in other words decrease in friendship.
4. It may destroy the organs that detect light, and convert it to electro-chemical impulses in neurons in other words destroys Eye.
5. Some online games destroys any object or record, that is generally accepted as payment for goods and services and repayment of debts in a given country or socio-economic context in other word destroys Money.
6. Destoys the level of functional and/or metabolic efficiency of a living being iin other words destroys health.
7. It destroys the skill of collection of facts, information, and/or skills acquired through experience or education or (more generally) the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject in other words decrease in General Knowledge.

Vishu is a new year festival celebrated in the state of Kerala, India. This occasion signifies the Sun's transit to the zodiac - Mesha Raasi (first zodiac sign) as per Indian astrological calculations and astronomically represents the vernal equinox. "Vishu" in Sanskrit means "equal". Therefore Vishu is more probably denoting one of the equinox days. Although Vishu (first of Medam) is the astrological new year day of Kerala, the official Malayalam new year falls on the first month of Chingam (August - September). However, 1st of Chingam has no significance either astrologically or astronomically. Chingam is the harvest season in Kerala and southern parts of coastal Karnataka.

The most important event in Vishu is the Vishukkani, which literally " the first thing to be seen on the Vishu day post waking up". The Vishukkani consist of a ritual arrangement of auspicious articles like raw rice, fresh lemon, golden cucumber, betel leaves, arecanut, metal mirror, the yellow flowers konna (Cassia fistula), and a holy text and coins, in a bell metal vessel called uruli in the puja room of the House. A lighted bell metal lamp called nilavilakku is also placed alongside. This arrangement is completed the previous night. On the day of Vishu, the custom is to wake up at dawn and go to the puja room with the eyes closed so that the Vishukkani is the first sight of the new season. Since the occasion marks the beginning of Malayalam New Year, it is also considered auspicious to read verses from Hindu Holy book Ramayanam after seeing the "Vishukkani". It is also believed that the page of the Ramayanam to which you open up will have a bearing on your life in the coming year. Devotees also throng the well-known temples like Sabarimala Ayyappan Temple, Guruvayur Sree Krishna temple to have a "Vishukkani Kazhcha" on the early hours of "Vishu" day.

"Vishu" is celebrated with much fanfare and vigour in all parts of Kerala.Bursting crackers is part and parcel of the celebration especially for children. Elders gift firecrackers to children and every child vie with each other to make a world of their own. People wear new clothes (Puthukodi) for the occasion and elders of the family distribute tokens of money, called Vishukkaineetam, to children, servants and tenants.

Vishu is also a day of feasting, wherein the edibles consist of roughly equal proportions of salty, sweet, sour and bitter items. Feast items include Veppampoorasam (a bitter preparation of neem) and Mampazhapachadi (a sour mango soup).

I had been hearing about Sukumara Kurup from the time my brain captures the real life and makes me understand what it is.He is one of the notorious wanted criminal in the Indian state of Kerala. He is accused in the murder of Chacko, a film representative, in the year 1984. Chacko was strangled to death and his body burnt inside a car. Sukumara Kurup allegedly committed the crime to fake his own death and claim an insurance amount of 800,000 (US$17,760) by killing Chacko who bore a resemblance with him. Soon after Sukumara Kurup is supposed to have fled abroad, while two of his co-accused were sentenced to life-term imprisonment. The Chacko murder case is one of the long standing cases in the judicial history of Kerala.
